A good roadway design is essential in the successful construction of any roadway. The main components of a good roadway design are horizontal/vertical alignments, pavement design, utility relocation plans, substantial drainage evaluation and design features affecting roadway conditions, stormwater permits, traffic engineering applications (including a safe and minimally disruptive Traffic Control Plan), maintenance of traffic plans, and identifying environmental constraints.
L&G Engineering is well versed in the design of all types of roadway, whether it be the design of urban or rural roadways that involve repair, resurfacing, rehabilitation, major reconstruction, substantial capacity improvements through a developed area, expressways, limited access facilities, interchanges, freeways, or new roadway/reconstruction work on complex projects including complex geometrics.
Our services include a full PS&E product which includes (but not limited to):

Whatever kind of roadway we may be designing, L&G strives to provide the client a flawless design. This is ensured through L&G's comprehensive QA/QC process. Quality Assurance has been defined as an overall management plan to guarantee the integrity of the product; while the Quality Control is defined as the series of analytical measurements used to assess the quality of the product. The goal of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) is to identify and implement data collection and analytical methodologies which limit the introduction of error. L&G has developed the following Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) and is the blueprint for identifying how the quality system of the organization will be performing the work for each individual task to be reflected for this particular project:
- Project Management and Organization. Planning and scoping processes that will assist the team performance, production quality and timeliness of results. This step is of utmost importance since it creates the foundation and boundaries for teamwork. All the objectives for each project are evaluated and agreed upon by all members of the team and client; the planning meetings and progress reports determine the success of these tasks.
- Data Generation and Collection operations are planned and the data collected is reviewed to assure the information being utilized by the team is reliable and of good quality. If the data integrity is compromised; the results obtained will undoubtedly be erroneous regardless of the amount of effort and consistency of the teamwork.
- Assessment and Oversight. Consistent monitoring throughout the life of the project is achieved by setting up a project schedule chart depicting the timetables and responsibilities of each team member. L&G conducts continuous regular meetings to assess the flow of information, data collected, status of work and to assure the quality of work is being preserved. The Project Manager is in constant communication and coordination with each one of the team members to provide necessary flow of information. In addition, the Client is kept abreast of every detail.
- Project Validation and Product Delivery. Quality review is audited at various stages of the project. Internal audit target dates have been established at 30, 60 and 90% completion of each task. Each team leader is given a checklist of the product completeness expected. Independent peer cross review is also implemented prior to submitting any information to the Project Manager. A thorough review by the Project Manager is required prior to submitting any information to the Client. All contact and flow of information is done directly by the Project Manager to the Client.
